2026 Eat Well, Move Well Award JUSTYNA PAWLUS, TOR BRIDGE PRIMARY SCHOOL, PLYMOUTH, DEVON
School cook Justyna is the quiet powerhouse fueling Tor Bridge Primary! She expertly crafts four different lunch options every single day while baking clever desserts that are secretly packed with goodness, like her legendary beetroot and butternut squash chocolate brownies.
Justyna’s incredible home-cooked meals provide the vital, constant fuel that keeps pupils focused in the classroom and perfectly energised to take on the school’s massive lineup of outdoor adventures.

And those physical challenges are seriously impressive! Powered by Justyna’s nutritious cooking, pupils happily tackle everything from the school’s weekly Half-Marathon Club on Plymouth Hoe to a grueling 20-mile Junior Ten Tors walk across Dartmoor.
By keeping all extra-curricular sports clubs completely free and adapting activities for children of all physical abilities, the school ensures that an inclusive culture of movement and exceptional nutrition work hand in hand.
Bravo, Justyna!
WHAT THE CELEB JUDGES THOUGHT…
“What I love about Justyna’s story is that she shows healthy habits don’t start with big gestures, they’re built every single day. At Tor Bridge, food and movement aren’t treated separately and that’s exactly how it should be. Children are eating well, trying new things, staying active and building confidence at the same time. Justyna’s created an environment where healthy choices feel exciting and achievable, and that can have a huge impact on children’s lives long after they leave school.” Joe Wicks
